About Katherine Bean

Hello, I’m Katherine, founder of Mercury Business Networking. I’m also owner and MD of DVANA Ltd; we’re sales and marketing specialists, harmonising the power of these two disciplines for a range of clients.

I hold a PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, specialising in AI (artificial intelligence), chaos theory and analogue integrated circuit design. I’m also a qualified lecturer and experienced coach and mentor.

Basically, I have a life-long fascination with people and technology - hardware, software, systems and data. Given today’s clashing human and AI cultures, it made complete sense to start a non-virtual networking group.

Over the years, I’ve built a career focused on empowering businesses to reach their full potential through strategic thinking, practical insight and collaborative leadership.

As a strategist, I work with startups, scaleups and established companies to deliver tailored strategies that align sales and marketing, optimise operational performance, and unlock the full potential of their teams. My approach is grounded in real-world experience and a deep understanding of how to bring people, processes and purpose into alignment for sustainable growth.

I'm also a published author. My first book, Master the Sales Process: B•PRIME, is a practical guide for unlocking long-term business growth using proven sales methodologies. My second, Business Negotiation, is written for startups, growing companies and sales professionals. Offering straightforward, actionable techniques to navigate difficult conversations, my aim is to help people close better deals and build stronger relationships.

As a speaker and trainer, I deliver high-energy workshops and keynotes designed to equip professionals with the skills and mindset needed to succeed. My sessions focus on negotiation, leadership and sales. Always my emphasis is on practical tools that teams can apply immediately to see results.

The other side of my life involves as much walking and archery as I can fit in. I’m also a fan of fantasy fiction. And yes, I’ve written one of my own, but that’s for another time.
